Lalit Modi is known for giving surprises to his family and friends since long. The first grand son of Gujar Mal Modi, the founder of Modi Nagar , Lalit had shocked his traditional Marwari family which was originally based in Patiala when he got married to a lady who had couple of kids from her first marriage.
It is said that Lalit defied his father, KK Modi, inorder to marry for the first time. GODFREY Phillips group CMD KK Modi was so annoyed with Lalit that he virtually snapped ties with him. Both father- son were not on talking terms till the demise of KK Modi couple of years ago. Lalit didn’t attend the funeral of his father.
