Indian wicketkeeper-batter and Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant has posted an emotional note about his father.
Taking to Instagram a day after match No.10 of the IPL 2022 between DC and Gujarat Titans, Pant remembered his father and shared a moving post about his dad. Rishabh’s father, Rajendra Pant, passed away in his sleep due to a cardiac arrest in 2017. Two days after his father’s demise, wicketkeeper-batter Pant had played a fighting knock (57) for the Delhi Capitals franchise in the 2017 edition of the IPL.
“He loved me for who I was and accepted me for who I was striving to become. Dads are strong for a reason. Their strength gives us a sense of protection. Now that you are in heaven dad, I know you will continue to protect me. Thanks for being my dad. I will always love and miss you until we meet again,” Pant mentioned in his post on Sunday. Former Indian cricketer and ex-Chennai Super Kings (CSK) superstar Suresh Raina has also reacted to Pant’s moving post on the photo and video sharing platform.
One of the finest wicketkeeper-batters in the modern era across all formats, Pant is leading the Delhi Capitals franchise in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Pant-led DC suffered their first defeat at the hands of new entrants Gujarat Titans (GT) in the league phase of the IPL 2022.
