Now Didi calls those sporting tilak and choti Rakshas: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday in his rally hit out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asserting that the BJP will form a government in the state.

Taking aim at her for the opposition to his temple visit in Bangladesh, PM Modi asked ‘what was wrong in seeking Maa Kali’s blessings?’. Terming other politicians ‘seasonal devotees’, he said that the BJP were proud of Bengal’s culture.

“Didi did not like me praying at the Ma Kali temple in Bangladesh. We are not seasonal with our religious belief. We always take pride in our faith and tradition,” said the PM, campaigning at Jaynagar in Bengal today.

The PM further alleged that the TMC has issues with people wearing saffron, sporting tilak and choti (tuft of hair). “They (TMC) call them ‘rakshas’,” said PM Modi.

While addressing another poll rally in Uluberia, talking about the high profile seat of Nandigram, he said that Mamata Banerjee was “afraid of losing”, so was forced to camp in Nandigram. He even asked if she will be filing for nomination from a second seat?

“Didi left Bhawanipore (her constituency in Kolkata) to go to Nandigram. Then she realised her mistake in coming here. Didi is forced to camp in Nandigram for three days,” he said.

PM Modi also mocked the Bengal Chief Minister’s letter to various opposition leaders calling for a united fight against the BJP, saying she “calls everyone outsiders, now she is appealing to them”.

He went on to say, “She has already abused the EVMs, has already questioned the credibility of the Election Commission.”
