Actors Nora Fatehi and Jacqueline Fernandez have been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case lodged against conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. While Nora will appear before the agency today, Fernandez is expected to join the probe tomorrow.
The agency had summoned Jacqueline Fernandez in the same case before. Fernandez was earlier quizzed by the ED as a “witness” in the case.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is lodged at Delhi’s Rohini jail as an undertrial, has been accused of extorting Rs 200 crore from a businessman over a year. He also has over 20 other cases of extortion registered against him. He even operated a racket from inside his jail cell.
Officials said he used the mobile phone and landline numbers of senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and CBI headquarters to cheat rich persons. He has also impersonated as PA to the Union Law Minister and a Supreme Court judge.
