No less than 40+ seats: Manipur CM exhorts on PM’s visit

Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh

Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh wants no less than 40+plus seats in the 60-seat Manipur legislative assembly in the polls due in two phases on February 28 and March 5.

And that’s because he deems prime minister Narendra Modi is nothing less than a legend for looking after the people of the North Eastern state in the distressful times of Covid-19 pandemic.

“We need to show our gratitude to Modi for giving ILP and ensuring protection of the people of Manipur; free rations and COVID vaccines during our time of trouble. We should pay our gratitude by securing 40 plus seats in the ensuing Manipur legislative assembly election 2022,” said Biren Singh.

“When the state was reeling under distress and created an ‘untouchability like situation even among family members’ due to the COVID pandemic, Prime Minister Modi provided free rations and vaccines for the people of Manipur; many lives were saved from starvation and many were saved from Coronavirus,” said the chief minister.

That’s not all. Biren Singh also feels Modi has been instrumental in granting Inner Line Permit (ILP).

The chief minister was addressing a public meeting at Luwangpokpa complex in Imphal East.

Also welcoming the prime minister on his visit, Adhikarimayum Sarda Devi, president of BJP unit, appealed to the state’s people to give the party no less than an absolute majority.
