There is deadlock in negotiations between the Central government and the representatives of farmers at Vigyan Bhawan. The Centre has said it wanted clause by clause discussions on all three farm laws. However, the farmers have been insisting on a total rollback and scrapping of the laws.
The seventh round of negotiations started late on Monday evening with the participants observing a two-minute silence as a mark of respect for those farmers who have lost their lives during the ongoing agitation. In the sixth round, the ministers, including Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar had taken lunch with the farmers.
In an earlier round, the Centre had conceded two demands of the farmers, keeping them out of the ambit of the penalty for stubble burning and subsidy on electricity. Tomar had said that he was positive about the outcome of the negotiations.
