Mamata Banerjee blocks WB Governor on twitter

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has blocked the Governor of her own state, Jagdeep Dhankhar, on twitter.

“Every morning, evening, he tweets accusing and attacking us. As if he is the only supreme and we are bonded labourers. I cannot take it. I have blocked him today on #twitter.”

Dhankhar had recently said that Bengal is the gas chamber of democracy.

On Sunday, he had said, while paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary, that insults directed at him won’t stop him from performing his duties.

Along with Mamata’s action, Trinamool Congress MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay has said a request has been made to president Ram Nath Kovind to remove Dhankhar as Governor from the state. He added that vice-president Venkaiah Naidu was also present when the request was made.
