Malayali film-maker converts to Hinduism

Malayali filmmaker Ali Akbar has converted to Hinduism. Last month, he said that he was shaken by the objected posts on social media over Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat’s death by men of his religion. He also informed that his name will be Ramasimhan.

Sharing the video of his conversion, Pratheesh Viswanath, Hindu activist and founder of Hindu Seva Kendra posted his picture, “History repeats itself, Ali Akbar is now Ramasimhan”.

While leaving Islam in December itself, Akbar had said that he would be known was Ramasimhan. In the video, he had said, “Today, I am throwing away an attire I received by birth. From today onwards I am not a Muslim. I am an Indian. That is my reply to those people who posted thousands of smiling emoticons against India.”

He had also  slammed those who put smiley emoticons below the news reports related to the death of General Rawat and said he could not stand with the “anti-nationals” anymore.

“The nation should identify those who smile at the death of the CDS and punish them,” he added.
