Indian army occupies six new heights in Eastern Ladakh sector along LAC

Indian Army has occupied six new heights in the Eastern Ladakh sector along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

As per a report of ANI, Indian army has occupied these new heights within just three weeks between August 29 and mid-September. These new heights include Recehen La, Rezang La, Mokhpari, Gurung Hill, Magar Hill, and now near Finger 4.

However, these heights are on the Indian side of the Lac and not on the Chinese side.

This is what led to air-firing by the Chinese troops on three occasions from southern to the northern bank of Pangong Tso lake.

To counter India, China has deployed 3,000 army personnel, including infantry and armoured troops, near Recheri La and Rezang La heights.

As per reports, the operations are closely monitored by army chief general Manoj Mukund and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, as well as Chief of defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat.
