The Pinarayi Vijayan-led Communist party in Kerala have always ridiculed the ages-old Hindu belief of worshipping cow and the medicinal values attached to its products, however, their own Ayurvedic medicine company is slyly making money by selling medicines made out of cow urine and cow dung.
As per a report, Oushadhi describes itself as the ‘largest producer of Ayurveda medicines in the public sector in India is a Kerala government-owned Ayurveda medicine production company and selling ‘Panchagavya Ghrutham.’ Its label claim that the medicine consists of cow dung, urine, milk, ghee and curd as main ingredients and found effective against mental disease, jaundice and claims to improve concentration.
Notably, earlier also, the Kerala government organised a beef protest against the Central notification banning the sale of cattle for slaughter in animal markets
This act of the Kerala government has sparked a row asking the communists government to step back from making money from cow products while ridiculing it in public.
