CNN losing a million viewers every day on average after Trump’s exit





Cable News Network (CNN), for four years, mouthed bad on US ex-president Donald Trump during his reign. It now emerges that it has cost them heavy in terms of viewership and the resultant ad revenue. 

It’s now learnt that CNN has lost almost 50% of viewership in the key demographics of 24-54 age group. It’s the key age group in terms of TV ratings. It lost a million viewers per night on average since the Joe Biden inauguration on January 20. 

According to Nielsen data, CNN viewership after January 20 has slumped to 1.6 million prime-time viewers from around 2.5 million between November 4-January 20. It’s a drop of around 36%. 

However, the drop is steeper in the age-group of 24-54, a loss of around 47%. Daytime viewers too have suffered a 34% decline.
