A temple priest found dead with throat slit in Bulandshahr

In Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr, a 50-year-old temple priest, Ashok Kumar, was found dead in a field near the famous temple, Dhakwale temple, on Sunday night. His body was discovered on Monday morning in the mustard field near the temple.

He had come to work at the temple merely a week back from Kailavan village in Salempur. He lived in the temple itself. The police officials have informed that the sadhu’s throat was slit using a sharp weapon.

Fearing that the incident can lead to possible communal riots, the police have been put on high alert.

CO Bijendra Rastogi and Police Officer Subhash Singh arrived at the scene. The body has been sent for postmortem. SSP Santosh Kumar Singh assured that the police is investigating every aspect of the murder.

Last week also, a sadhu was found brutally murdered, his head smashed with a heavy object and his private parts burnt in Islamnagar, UP.

This is not the first such incident in Bulandshahr. Last year also, two sadhus, Jagandas (55) and Sevadas (35), were found murdered inside a Shiva temple at Pagona village of Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh.
