After a video of Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) soldiers unfurling their national flag in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley to celebrate New Year went viral, the sources have clarified that the spot in the video is not the disputed area, as per a report in Times Now.
The flag is being flown in undisputed Chinese-held areas, and not near the bend of the river where Indian and Chinese soldiers had clashed in June 2020.
The clarification came after a Chinese media outlet shared a video showing PLA soldiers celebrating New Year and unfurling the flag.
The Chinese troops celebrated New Year in an area which is very much in Chinese territory and not disputed.
In June 2020, deadly physical clash happened between the Indian Army and Chinese soldiers at Galwan and had claimed the lives of 20 Indian soldiers.
