Mia Khalifa accused of siding with US in fuelling protest in Cuba

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, during his television address, has accused former adult-film star Mia Khalifa of fuelling the protests against the Communist regime in the country along with the United States government.

This has come after she posted a video criticizing the Cuban government amid protests in the country.

Khalifa, who has nearly 4 million Twitter followers, separately blasted President Diaz-Canel in a video message posted to her account on Sunday. She can be heard abusing him in Spanish.

Cuba witnessed one of the biggest demonstrations seen in over three decades as thousands of protesters marched in protest against the government and its handling of the Covid-19 and the country’s economic collapse and lack of civil liberties. Cuba’s economy, heavily reliant on tourism, has shrunk 11 percent in the last year due to the pandemic.

It is worthy to note that Mia Khalifa also supported the farmer’s protest but conveniently choose to stay silent when it took a violent turn.
