Bhindranwale posters, pro-Khalistan slogans raised inside Golden Temple





On the 37th anniversary of the Operation Blue Star, pro-Khalistan slogans, placards of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale has been spotted at Amritsar’s Golden Temple on Sunday, as per a report

Pro-Khalistani group, Dal Khalsa, held a march to the shrine, demanding to mark June 6 as “Khalistan Day.”

Deep Sidhu, the prime accused of the Red Force violence, who is out on bail, was also spotted offering prayers at the shrine on Sunday. 

Sources on site said that Sikh preacher Jathedar Giani Harprreet Singh lashed out at the Indian army. Bhindranwale was being hailed as a “martyr”; his son was also honoured at the Golden Temple complex. 

The 1984 Operation Blue Star was the biggest internal security mission ever undertaken by the Indian army. It was carried out between June 1-8, 1984 in Amritsar. 

Khalistan supporters had taken over the Akal Takht complex in Golden Temple during the Operation Blue star. The casualties, as per the official records, was 83 Indian Army jawans and 492 civilians.
