Maharashtra is finally getting around to the Centre’s position and concentrating on vaccinating 45 plus adults in the state and slowing the drive on 18-44 years.
“We are slowing down the process (of vaccination) for 18-44 because we don’t have vaccines. We don’t want to stop but right now we have no vaccines. So we will be giving vaccines right now to 45+ only,” state health minister Rajesh Tope said.
Maharashtra on Monday reported 37,236 fresh infections, it being the worst-hit state in India. Its overall active case tally is nearly six lakhs. It’s overall caseload is 51.4 lakh. Its overall number of dead are 76,398.
