Hours after the Delhi High Court slammed Delhi Govt for failing to ensure supply of medical oxygen, state Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has appealed to the Chief Ministers of other states to provide them with spare oxygen.
It has caused an outpouring of anger on social media, now that its public that Delhi High Court yesterday slammed the Kejriwal government for not even picking up the required Oxygen supply which Centre provided for the Capital four days ago.
One of the users, training his guns towards Kejriwal wrote, “Jinhone haspatal ke naam par chunav lada tha. Woh baaki sab se oxygen maang rahe hain! …Delhi is the worst managed state in Covid crisis. Because when freebies can win elections. U have no incentive to work!”
Jinhone haspatal ke naam par chunav lada tha.
Woh baaki sab se oxygen maang rahe hain!Bureaucrats & governance are two poles that are light years apart.

People slammed him for spending crores of money on advertisements instead of working to ensure that the oxygen supply was secured
Congress leader Ajay Maken also accused him of the same.
“With a total of Rs 822 crore being spent on advertisements and publicity on Delhi in the last two years, one can set up as many as 800 oxygen plants, adding 750 metric tonnes capacity of oxygen, but the government will not take such a step in public welfare,” he said.

Yesterday, the Delhi High Court ha been informed that “If we don’t get 480 metric tonnes (of oxygen), the system will collapse. We have seen in the last 24 hours. Something disastrous will happen.”
Responding to this, the Dehi High Court had hit out at Kejriwal and told Rahul Mehra, representing the Delhi Government, “If allocation was done 3 days back, why didn’t you exercise your option to look for tankers? Your political head has himself been an administrative officer, he knows how it works.”
Slamming the Delhi government, the Bench had said, “The problem is you think allocation is done so everything will be served at your doorstep but that’s not how it works. After allocation have you made any effort for the tankers to collect oxygen?
“Every state is arranging its own tankers. If you’re not having your own tanks then arrange them. You will have to do it. Get in touch with the Central government officers. We are not here to facilitate contact between officers,” the Bench said.
In December 2020, the central government had sanctioned funds to set up eight pressure swing absorption plants for production of oxygen; the Delhi government has not added even a single plant in the past year and neither has it augmented the oxygen storage capacity in the national capital.
