Kejriwal announces a week-long lockdown in the Capital





As the situation pertaining to coronavirus in Delhi continues to grow grim, Delhi government has announced a one-week long curfew starting 10 pm today till next Monday 5 am amid rising Covid-19 cases.

However, Kejriwal said that all essential services, food services and medical services will continue in the city-state till next Monday. He also said that weddings and marriages are allowed in Delhi but only 50 people will be allowed, adding that separate passes will be issued for it.

Delhi CM also appealed to migrant workers to not leave the state, “This is a small lockdown, don’t leave Delhi.”

On Sunday, the city-state reported over 25,000 cases and 161 deaths, the biggest spike since the beginning of the pandemic.
