Covid-19 cases are zooming in India and as many as 63% of them have been recorded in Congress-ruled/alliance states: Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, Punjab and Jharkhand.
On Sunday, Maharashtra accounted for 57,074 cases, Chattisgarh 7,302, Jharkhand 1,086 while in Punjab it was 2,692 cases. In Rajasthan’s case it was 2,400 cases.
In the states under BjP rule, eight in all, around 22% new cases were reported on Sunday.
Overall, India had 96,982 new cases on Sunday.
